Consumer Priority Service Reviews Two Economical Phones: The Samsung Galaxy Attain and The Pantech Burst

Looking for a not-so-costly phone – but one whose budget-friendliness won’t require sacrificing function? Lucky for you, two ideal, economic smartphone choices have just hit the market, and are definitely worht checking out.

The first, is the Samsung Galaxy Attain. For those of you still paying off your student loans and working on restoring your poor credit, the no contract phone is the ultimate score. The Attain is one of the best Metro PCS phones available today, requiring no contract, but still providing top-notch performance and features. The Android 2.3 smartphone runs on Metro PCS’s 4G LTE network. It’s attractive, too, with a 3.5-inch screen that flaunts a 320 X 480-pixel QVGA display – not too shanty for a low-budget phone.

Image quality on this device crisp and bold – even though the small screen (the whole phone measures 4.57 X 2.38 X 0.46 inches) may annoy users who need a lot of room to text. The Attain’s video and camera capabilities are middle-of-the-road, and its performance (it runs on a 1GHz single-core Hummingbird processor and 512 MB of RAM) feels a little outdated – nonetheless, there is not enough of a lag to dissuade buyers.

The second budget-friendly phone is the Pantech Burst. Contrary to the Attain, this phone does require a contract. However, it speed and affordability certainly make it worth committing to. In fact, the only con to this smartphone is a below-par 5-megapixel camera – but a slow shutter speed seems a small price to pay in light of its other awesome features.

The Burst features a dual-core processor and runs on AT&T’s LTE network. It measures 5.0 X 2.5 X 0.45 and weighs about 4.32 – making it easy to tote, and cozy-in-hand. Plus, it sports an AMOLED display that is 4 inches around with a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. While its text appears a little fuzzy, its decent for gaming, browsing and watching YouTube clips – provided you aren’t a stickler for a flawless picture.

For a functional, attractive, and compact phone with just the right amount of features and a cost that won’t break your budget, have a look at the Samsung Galaxy Attain and the Pantech Burst: two smart choices in today’s smartphone circus.
