Nokia Lumia 1320 lands in US This Friday

The Lumia 1320, you may or may not recall, was unveiled back in October, with China and Vietnam selected as its first launch locations.

Younger brother of of the Lumia 1520, the 1320 Windows Phone is now on its way to the US, with Cricket Wireless announcing today it’ll start offering the 6-inch giant from this Friday off-contract for a promotional price of $230 after a $50 mail-in rebate. From July 10, however, you’ll need to cough up an extra $50.This’ll be Cricket’s first phablet, so could well appeal to the carrier’s current customers looking for something a little heftier in the hand.

Sporting Windows Phone 8 and a bright 720p display, the Lumia 1320 comes with a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage expandable to 64GB via its microSD slot. In addition, users can make use of an extra 7GB of cloud storage for free with Microsoft’s SkyDrive.

The handset’s rear shooter features a modest 5-megapixel sensor – capable of recording 1080p video at 30fps – while on the opposite side you’ll find an even more basic VGA camera.

It comes with 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and you’ll also find a built-in FM radio and support for HD Voice.

A beefy 3400 mAh battery means you’ll go longer than usual before worrying about the location of the nearest power source, while its tough Gorilla Glass display should offer some decent protection if your fingers are smeared in butter.

Although Nokia said last year the phone would be available in a variety of colors, it appears Cricket is offering it in orange only to begin with.
